Privacy Policy

Controlled Security Operations (CSO) is committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of all staff, clients, contractors, and members of the public. We collect only the information necessary to deliver our security services, including contact details, operational records, incident reports, time‑stamped photos and videos, and identification or licensing information. This data is used solely for legitimate operational purposes such as site management, welfare monitoring, compliance with SIA regulations, and fulfilling contractual obligations. All personal data is stored securely using encrypted systems, restricted access, and strict confidentiality procedures. We share information only when necessary and lawful, such as with clients, law enforcement, emergency services, insurers, or regulatory bodies. Data is retained only for as long as required by law or contract, after which it is securely deleted. Individuals may request access to their data, corrections, or clarification on how their information is used at any time.

Cookie Policy

CSO uses cookies to ensure our website functions correctly, remains secure, and provides a better user experience. Cookies help us understand how visitors use our site, remember preferences, and maintain essential features. We use essential cookies for core functionality, analytics cookies to improve performance, and preference cookies to enhance usability. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies for marketing. You may disable cookies through your browser settings, although this may affect website performance. This policy may be updated periodically, and any changes will be posted on this page.

Health & Safety

CSO is committed to maintaining a safe, healthy, and compliant working environment for all staff, clients, and contractors. We take all reasonable steps to identify and manage risks, provide appropriate training, and ensure all work is carried out in accordance with UK Health & Safety legislation, SIA regulations, and site‑specific requirements. Staff must follow all safety instructions, use PPE correctly, report hazards immediately, and act responsibly at all times. CSO conducts regular reviews, risk assessments, and welfare checks to prevent accidents and unsafe practices. Everyone working with or for CSO shares responsibility for maintaining high safety standards and reporting incidents or concerns promptly.

Lone Worker Policy

CSO recognises that many security roles involve lone working and is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all lone workers. Staff working alone must follow all operational procedures, maintain regular communication with Control, and respond to scheduled welfare checks throughout their shift. Lone workers must remain alert, avoid unnecessary risks, and report any concerns or suspicious activity immediately. CSO provides clear instructions, welfare monitoring, and emergency support to ensure lone workers are never without oversight. Missed welfare checks trigger escalation procedures, including supervisor contact and, if necessary, a police welfare visit. All lone workers must keep their phone charged, accessible, and audible at all times.

Client Data Handling

CSO processes client data solely for the purpose of delivering professional security services. This may include site access information, contact details, incident reports, operational logs, photos, videos, and CCTV footage. We use this data to manage security operations, produce reports, ensure staff safety, and meet legal obligations. All client data is protected through encrypted systems, access controls, secure communication channels, and strict confidentiality procedures. Data is shared only when necessary with authorised parties such as law enforcement, insurers, emergency services, or regulatory bodies. We retain data only for as long as required by law or contract. Clients may request access to their data, corrections, or clarification on how their information is used.
